Sources and method

IndiaCos builds one page for every Indian business from public government records. We do not sell or invent data; every fact on a page comes from one of the sources below, and every page says when it was retrieved.

GST registrations

51,57,032 GSTINs in all. For 37,17,927 registrations made between 2025-01-01 and 2026-05-31 we hold the registration details the GST system publishes for any GSTIN: legal and trade name, constitution, taxpayer type, status, registration date, nature of business, jurisdiction, principal place of business and aggregate turnover band.

A further 14,39,105 GSTINs come from the GST e-invoice enabled list (updated 15 September 2026) and state allotment lists, with name and state only. 14,95,479 GSTINs in all are enabled for e-invoicing, which is mandatory only above Rs 5 crore aggregate turnover.

Companies and LLPs

Company and LLP master data (CIN, class, capital, ROC, activity, status) from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs' published lists, including monthly incorporations, closures and struck-off lists, is being added. Director (DIN) records are not yet published.

Court cases

Cases naming a business as a party come from the eCourtsIndia index of the Supreme Court, High Courts, district courts and tribunals. Matching is by party name and is checked again every 30 days. A name match is not proof that a case concerns a particular business.

What we mask

• Email addresses and mobile numbers are always masked.
• For individuals and proprietorships, the street address is not shown, only locality, district, state and pincode.
• We do not search court records by the names of private individuals.

Corrections and removal

If something is wrong or should not be public, tell us and we will act within 7 days.
